This Red Velvet Protein Shake with beets is a great treat for boosting heart health on Valentine’s Day! A diet rich in beet juice can help lower blood pressure and improve overall heart health and circulation.
Instructions
- Prepare a handful of banana slices, blueberries and chopped red beet. Put all of the ingredients into a blender; blend for 30 seconds or until mostly smooth. The more ice, the thicker it gets.
Variations - more calories or less
- Replace the water with your favorite milk of choice like nonfat milk, unsweetened almond milk or rice milk. This will increase total nutritional intake.
