6 Superfoods & Recipes You Must Try

Here at INVIGOR8, we’re big fans of superfoods. In fact, we try to pack healthy superfoods into pretty much everything we eat. We love creating recipes that not only feature our popular INVIGOR8 Superfood Shake but also real, whole superfoods. Below is a list of some of our favorite superfoods and recipes we think are must-tries!

Pumpkin
This autumn staple isn’t for Halloween decorations — it’s also an incredibly healthy, antioxidant-rich superfood. Pumpkins get their deep orange color from beta-carotene which converts into vitamin A. Vitamin A is important for your vision, supporting your immune system and helping your organs function properly. There are plenty of ways to get pumpkin into your diet — pumpkin pie, anyone? — but two healthy options are our Fall Pumpkin Pie Smoothie recipe or our Pumpkin Spice Chia Pudding. Our smoothie recipe is full of antioxidants, and the pudding is a fragrant, creamy meal or snack to enjoy during the fall season. Both are made with our French Vanilla Whey Protein Powder mix.

Spinach
Spinach is one of the mightiest superfoods. Not only is it packed with energizing protein, digestion-supporting fiber and oxygen-carrying iron, it’s also chock full of Vitamins A, C and K. Why are these vitamins so good for you? Vitamin A helps build strong vision, strong immunity and strong organs; Vitamin C helps with heart health; and Vitamin K helps your blood clot. This versatile veggie is great raw or cooked, but we recommend trying it with our Energizing Spinach and Fruit Smoothie featuring spinach, banana, fruit and our INVIGOR8 Superfood Shake mix (chocolate or vanilla).

Blueberries
Blueberries are one of the most beneficial berries around. They’re rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Manganese. Manganese contributes to bone health, reduction of inflammation, blood sugar regulation and a whole lot more.A great way to get your daily intake of blueberries is with our Blueberry Vanilla Mug Cake. This delectable, gluten-free recipe is made with almond flour and our French Vanilla INVIGOR8 Superfood Shake mix and makes for a great morning treat or a dessert.

Avocado
Who doesn’t love avocados? This creamy green fruit is loaded with everything from Vitamin K to Vitamin C, potassium to Vitamin E. We already know what Vitamin K and C are good for, so let’s focus on potassium and Vitamin E. Potassium helps with heart health as it regulates blood pressure and heartbeat, and helps lower cholesterol. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that is great for your skin, vision, blood and brain. We love our decadent Avocado Chocolate Mousse recipe featuring our Triple Chocolate Brownie INVIGOR8 Superfood Shake mix. It’s easy to make and a total crowd pleaser—plus it’s good for you!

Cherries

This little red fruit is full of antioxidants, and the more sour the cherry the more powerful. Cherries are rich in fiber and Vitamin C, but one of their best features is phytochemicals. Studies have shown that phytochemicals help the immune system, reduce inflammation, and prevent DNA damage. To enjoy the benefits of cherries (and almonds), try our Cherry Almond Butter Smoothie recipe featuring our Vanilla or Triple Chocolate Brownie INVIGOR8 Superfood Shake mix.

Beets

Like the other superfoods listed here, beets feature an array of nutrients, with the strongest nutrient being folate. Folate is a B vitamin that has been found to support a healthy pregnancy and assist heart health. There’s also evidence that folate might support cognitive function and improve moods. To get more beets into your diet, try our Red Velvet Smoothie With Beets. This nutritious recipe features our Triple Chocolate Brown INVIGOR8 Superfood Shake mix, milk or plant-based alternative, banana, blueberries (another superfood!) and beets.
